September 06, 2007 - Professor John Sloman, Director of the Economics Network and long-time chair of the Economics' Network Workshop at the Scottish Economic Society's Annual Conference, has been awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award jointly sponsored by the Government Economic Service, the Scottish Economic Society and the Higher Education Academy. This award recognises John Sloman as an "Outstanding Teacher and Ambassador of Economics" -- a judgement that SES members who participated in one of his workshop sessions on how to improve the teaching of Economics are certain to share.
The award was handed over at the Developments in Economics Education (DEE) Conference dinner at Peterhouse College, Cambridge, and Professor Robert E. Wright, President-elect of the SES, was on hand to make the presentation to John.
