Published on 04/01/09STUDENT AND TEACHERS EVENT NOVEMBER 2009.
We can now confirm that the event is to be held in Glasgow at the I-Max Cinema, which is situated within the grounds of the Science Centre.
We expect that 380 participants will attend the event. This is the first time Glasgow has been used as the host. Edinburgh has been the location for the first two events in 2007 and 2008.
"The Scottish Economic Society (SES) is a registered in Scotland charity whose aims are to promote the study and teaching of economics in the widest possible sense in accordance with the Scottish tradition of political economy inspired by Adam Smith and to provide a forum for the discussion of Scottish economic problems and their relationship to political and social life. For the past two years, the Society has sponsored a one-day event aimed at bringing together teachers and students with academic economists and practitioners. This year’s event will be held at the Glasgow Science Centre on November 9. The guest speaker is Financial Times journalist and BBC presenter Tim Harford—author of the best-selling books The Underground Economist and the Logic of Life".
